Ingredients Used in making Chicken Nihari:
- oil (One cup).
- Salt (custom taste).
- 1.25Kg chicken breast.
- Coriander seeds (one tablespoon).
- Fennel Seeds (one tablespoon).
- Cumin (one tablespoon).
- Black cumin (one tablespoon).
- Nutmeg (1/4 piece).
- Black cardamom (3 Pieces).
- Black peppercorns (teaspoon).
- Mace (one piece).
- Cloves (7/8 Pieces).
- Cinnamon (one-inch Piece).
- Garlic paste (2 teaspoons).
- Ginger paste (1 teaspoon).
- Wheat flour (2 cups).
Method to make Chicken Nihari:
Making nihari is very simple you just have to collect the above ingredients and follow the steps. You will definitely make this recipe very tasty if you will follow this post. First of all, you need to take a pan where you have to add one cup of oil and heat it up. After heating the oil you have to add chicken into the pan. Leave the chicken for changing its color meanwhile you have to grind the ingredients. You can use a grinder or anything else which is available to grind these ingredients. once you grind these ingredients you have to put them into aside and cook the chicken for five minutes without adding any spices. Now you have to add Garlic and Ginger paste into the chicken and cook it for two minutes. After that, you have to add the basic Nihari spices which are below.
- Dry ginger powder (One heaping teaspoon).
- Turmeric (one teaspoon).
- Red chili powder (two teaspoons).
- The citric acid (Tartric) (2 teaspoons).
- Chicken powder (one tablespoon).
Once you collect all Nihari spices then you have to add these spices into the pan where our chicken breast is now brown. You have to add some water to it. It’s time to add all ingredients in the pan and mix it well. Now leave it to cook for at least 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you have to add wheat flour in it. If you like thin nihari then you can add less if you like thick nihari then you can add more flour in it. Now you have to leave it for 15 minutes in medium flame. Finally, Chicken nihari is ready to eat you can add anything else if you want but I think these ingredients are enough.
